The Magic Porridge Pot
A poor girl lives with her mother in extreme poverty, struggling to find enough food to survive. One day she ventures into the forest where an aged woman recognizes their plight. The woman gifts the girl a magical little pot that can cook sweet porridge at will. She is taught two simple words to control it: one to start cooking and another to stop. Excited by this miracle, the girl takes the pot home to her grateful mother. Together they use the pot to fill their bellies whenever hunger strikes, leaving their poverty behind. The mother eventually decides to use the pot while the girl is away from home. She successfully starts the cooking process but forgets the command word needed to stop it. The pot begins to cook endlessly, filling the kitchen with delicious porridge. Soon the porridge overflows the kitchen and floods the entire house. It continues to spread out into the street, creating a massive wall of sweet mush. The neighbors are trapped as the porridge consumes their town block by block. Chaos ensues as everyone faces the distress of being surrounded by endless food. No one knows how to halt the magical cooking process on their own. Just in time, the girl returns home from her errand outside the mess. She calmly speaks the magic word and the pot finally stops cooking. The family is left with a huge problem but has saved the town from total submersion.
